Ohanaeze Ndigbo, also known as the Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, has criticised what it called “Bayo Onanuga’s outrageous character towards anything Igbo” and advised him to channel his energy towards assisting President Bola Tinubu to tackle the issues facing the country.

Recall that Bayo Onanuga is the special adviser for information and strategy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

 The group questioned why Bayo Onanuga always harbours “thoughtless, loathsome, quarrelsome, rude, disgusting and inflammable bitterness against Igbo.

Ohanaeze reminded the presidential spokesperson that the current economic difficulty in Nigeria is blind to ethnicity and informed him that this is a time for the Presidency to embark on strategies, programmes, activities, and a body language that will appeal to or allure the downtrodden, dispossessed, and oppressed.

Commenting on Onanuga’s statement concerning the national protests being planned by Nigerians, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, through Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, the National Publicity Secretary, said: “The attention of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has been drawn to a comment by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, to the effect that the malcontents planning to stage nationwide protests are supporters of Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party. And that Obi should be held accountable for his actions in whatever crisis emanates from the protest.

“And that the supporters of Obi are planning to eject President Bola Tinubu under the guise of protests. Several gullible, undiscerning individuals have joined Onanuga to state specifically that the Igbo are the propellers of the forthcoming nationwide protest.

“The Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation sees the above statement by Onanuga as true to type.
