NDLEA Nabs man Carrying 4,000 Pills Of Tramadol at Lagos Airport

The suspect, a regular traveller, acknowledged in his statement that he was paid 700 euros if the shipment was successfully delivered in Italy.

A male traveller in possession of 4,000 tramadol pills was taken into custody by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Muhammad Murtala International Airport (MMIA), in Ikeja, Lagos.

According to NDLEA's Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi, on Friday, NDLEA agents at the Lagos airport's gate "C" departure hall stopped the suspect from trying to export the pills on an Ethiopian Airlines flight to Malpensa, Italy.

He said that psychoactive substance was discovered hidden in women's clothing, granulated melon placed in the suspect's rucksack and a different bag holding food items.
