The remaining four kidnapped pupils from Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) Primary School Alwaza, Doma Local Government Area, have been rescued, says the police command in Nasarawa State.

In a statement to journalists on Friday in Lafia, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the state's PPRO, confirmed the information.

Six pupils from the LGEA Primary School in Alwaza, Doma LGA were reportedly abducted by armed men on motorbikes on Friday, January 20, at about 7:00 a.m.

On January 21, a day after they had been abducted, the police, along with other law enforcement agencies and hunters, managed to free two of the pupils.

The PPRO reported that at around 7:00 a.m. on Friday, a group of joint security personnel working with hunters were able to rescue the four pupils from Doka village in the Doma LGA unharmed.

The victims have been brought to the hospital for a medical assessment, the police spokesman said, and will thereafter be reunited with their parents.

He noted that Mr. Maiyaki Muhammad-Baba, the state's commissioner of police, thanked the people for their support throughout the time that the pupils were being searched for.

Despite the fact that no one has been apprehended, he pleaded with the public to provide the police with vital information that would help identify and apprehend those responsible for the heinous conduct.
