Nigeria Aviation Fire and Safety Association (NAFSA) is seeking to collaborate with the National Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) in a bid to build a solid relationship with the agency.

Using Comrade as a conduit NAFSA's National President, Sunday Ugbeikwu, stated that the cooperation will ensure even growth of the industry as a whole, this was said on Tuesday when the organization paid NSIB's Abuja headquarters a courtesy visit.

The meeting was productive, according to Ugbeikwu, who attended the NSIB with the other executive members.

In his speech, Ugbeikwu provided a brief overview of the association's history while highlighting NAFSA's goals and objectives.

He argued that as the NSIB is responsible for conducting investigations into serious occurrences and accidents involving all forms of transportation, cooperation between the two organizations is essential to enhancing system safety.

“Our major objective is to liaise with the relevant aviation agencies and organisations in the sector with a view to uplifting, upholding, upscaling and improving the standard or quality of aviation fire service

“The major reason for the collaboration is interdependency. Firefighters are usually the first responders whereas NSIB is saddled with the responsibility of investigating serious incidents and accidents, which normally involve members of NAFSA. It has become imperative to partner with NSIB and establish good rapport to promote synergy and better working relationship,” he said.
