Man Arrested for Stabbing Girlfriend’s Brother in Ogun

The incident was reported to the Agbado Police Division by the suspect's girlfriend, Olaife Momoh.

A 35-year-old man, Dada Taiwo, has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend’s brother, Damilola Momoh, in the neck with a broken bottle. The incident occurred in Agbado, Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

According to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Omolola Odutola, the altercation started over a phone that Damilola, 34, had borrowed. The dispute escalated, leading Taiwo to stab Damilola during the argument.

The incident was reported to the Agbado Police Division by the suspect's girlfriend, Olaife Momoh. DSP Odutola confirmed that the victim was taken to Overcomer Hospital in Agbado for medical treatment, and an investigation is currently ongoing.

"On July 21, at about 2 a.m., Olaife Momoh, who resides at 11, Sowemimo Street, Akera, Agbado, Ogun State, reported to the station that her boyfriend, Dada Taiwo of 34 Crossing Road, Agbado, aged 35, had a dispute with her elder brother, Damilola Momoh, aged 34, over a phone her brother had borrowed. During the argument, the suspect, armed with a broken bottle, stabbed her brother on the neck, causing severe injuries and profuse bleeding," said Odutola.

Odutola also warned against uncontrollable anger and advised young people to report any incident to the nearest police station to avoid taking the law into their own hands.
