The Lagos State Government has issued a stern warning to residents about the dangers of purchasing expired goods, after a significant enforcement action against Blessed Happy Homes Superstore in Festac.

The Environment and Water Resources Commissioner, Tokunbo Wahab, emphasized the state's commitment to accountability after LASCOPA officials discovered multiple expired products during a recent inspection.

The superstore, located on 6th Avenue, 13th Road, Festac Town, was immediately sealed for severe health and safety violations.

Investigators uncovered a range of expired items including baby milk, beverages, body creams, and perfumes, some dating back to April 2023. The store's manager initially resisted enforcement efforts, prompting legal intervention that resulted in a bench warrant for the owner.

LASCOPA's General Manager, Mr. Afolabi Solebo, highlighted the critical nature of the violation. The owner is now scheduled to appear before the Magistrate Court at Lagos Taskforce Headquarters in Bolade–Oshodi, underscoring the government's zero-tolerance approach to consumer rights violations.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's administration has made it clear that while supporting business growth, strict adherence to regulatory standards is non-negotiable.

LASCOPA has committed to intensifying inspections across the state, warning consumers to remain vigilant and carefully check product labels and expiry dates before making purchases.
