Usman Adamu was allegedly killed and his phone snatched by assailants during a visit to Anguwa Uku, where the governor had gone to express gratitude for voters' overwhelming support.

Yahaya had visited Kwami, Funakaye, Dukku and Nafada Local Government Areas to express his gratitude for the support he received during the campaign.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, said the suspect's killing had nothing to do with the jubilation atmosphere. He explained that their investigation showed it was another matter altogether.

He noted that no arrest had been made, adding that investigation would confirm the cause of the killing.

“No connection with the jubilation rally of His Excellency for now, but any development will be communicated.
