This was announced by Mr. Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, the Commissioner of Police, during a press briefing held in Katsina on Wednesday.

Abubakar-Musa, delivering the information through the command's Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, specified that these suspects were detained in connection with offenses such as alleged armed robbery, kidnapping, cattle rustling, and culpable homicide.

In addition, these people were also taken into custody on charges of alleged rape, possession of illicit drugs, intimidation, incitement, and their affiliation with criminal groups, among other allegations.

Out of the 75 cases reported to the police across the state, the Commissioner disclosed that 72 have been formally charged in court.

Furthermore, he noted that within the span of a month, the police successfully rescued 23 kidnapped victims and seized items such as one pistol, six live ammunition rounds, and a motorcycle, among other relevant evidence.

Abubakar-Musa urged the general public to provide the police and other law enforcement agencies with timely and valuable information, as it greatly contributes to the apprehension of criminals throughout the state.
