Kalu Condemns Killing of Soldiers in Aba

Urges security agencies to find those responsible and hold them accountable.

The former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has condemned the killing of soldiers at a checkpoint in Aba on Thursday morning.

Kalu described the incident as evil, wicked, and unacceptable. He urged security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the ugly act, stating that the operatives of the armed forces don’t deserve to be maltreated due to the roles they play in national security.

Kalu, while urging the indigenes of Abia State to remain calm and law-abiding, stressed that peace is a panacea for development.

In a press statement, the former governor commiserated with the Nigerian army on the sad development. 

He emphasised that everyone in the southeast region needs to work together to get rid of criminals. The formergovernor also asked law enforcement agencies to investigate the incident thoroughly to prevent similar tragedies in the future. He condoles the families of the soldiers who were killed.
