JUST IN: Vehicle Conveying Inmates Injure Commuters In Osun

According to witnesses, the driver of the correctional truck disobeyed a stop sign and ended up hitting a minibus, injuring both the driver and one of the passengers.

A truck transporting inmates to the State High Court has today collided with a commercial minibus, causing two injuries, palpable tension in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.

Commercial motorcyclists and some irate youths immediately blocked the well-known Olaiya Junction in protest of the incident, which sparked violent protest.

According to witnesses, the driver of the correctional truck disobeyed a stop sign and ended up hitting a minibus, injuring both the driver and one of the passengers.

As of the time this report was written, teargas had been used to disperse the protesters by police who had arrived on the scene.
