Boluwatife Adedokun

Gunmen suspected to be cultists fatally shot a printer identified as George Sopruchi on Abakaliki Street in the Mile 1 area of Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State's capital on Saturday.

Reportedly, the TV NJ assailants ambushed Sopruchi close to 8:30 pm on Friday while he was engaged in a conversation.

This incident occurred approximately 72 hours after another suspected cult-related shooting along the Nanka/Lumuber area of Diobu.

An eyewitness, preferring anonymity, disclosed that the gunmen also stole Sopruchi's motorcycle and one of his mobile phones.

Expressing concern, the eyewitness emphasized the escalating violence in Diobu and urged heightened police vigilance.

Notably, the State Police Command spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the previous killing and stated that investigations were ongoing.

However, attempts to contact Iringe-Koko regarding the latest incident were unsuccessful, as she did not respond to calls or messages.
