Gunmen Kill Three Policemen, 1 FRSC Official In Fresh Enugu Attack

This fresh killing comes less than 24 hours after two police officers on duty were murdered in the state capital, forcing the state governor to impose a ten million naira bounty on the perpetrators.

Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed three police officers and one Federal Road Safety Corps personnel in separate attacks in Nsukka and Udenu local government areas of Enugu State.

According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen attacked a police division in Umabor Eha-Alumona of the Nsukka local area council on Saturday night, killing two officers.

In a separate attack, gunmen killed federal road safety personnel as well as a police officer who was attached to HRH Igwe Patrick Eze, also known as Igwe Waziri, the traditional ruler of Egali Amalla Community in Orba, Udenu Local Area. The monarch, reportedly caught in the web of the attack, miraculously escaped unhurt. The gunmen also set fire to an FRSC van during the attack.

These fresh killings come less than 24 hours after two police officers on duty were murdered in the state capital, forcing the state governor to impose a ten million naira bounty on the perpetrators.

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has vowed to utilize all available resources to apprehend the criminals responsible for the killing of the two police officers on Friday.

Meanwhile, the police is yet to give any official statement regarding the killings
