Gunmen Kidnap Farmer in Omu-Ekiti 

Mrs. Bosede Babatunde, the victim's wife, confirmed the situation by phone with our correspondent, stating that the kidnappers had contacted the family and demanded a three million naira ransom.

Mr. Adewumi Babatunde, a farmer in Omu-Ekiti, Oye Local Government, was abducted as he was leaving his farm.

Mr. Babatunde was kidnapped yesterday evening aroundOmu and Ayede-Ekiti.

Mrs. Bosede Babatunde, the victim's wife, confirmed the situation by phone with our correspondent, stating that the kidnappers had contacted the family and demanded a three million naira ransom.

In addition, the Owajumu of Omu-Ekiti, Oba Adeyeye Ogundeyi, pleaded with the government to provide watertight security along Omu-Ijelu-Ayede Road, expressing regret over the incessant kidnapping of locals, particularly farmers in the region.

When contacted, Mr. Sunday Abutu, the Public Relations Officer for the Ekiti State Police, stated that he had not been informed of the situation and promised to conduct an investigation.
