Emeka Ihedioha, Former Governor of Imo State announced the death of his mother, Dame Dorothy Ihedioha, who died at the age of 90.

Ihedioha announced her the death of his mummy on his social media page yesterday, 18th April, 2023. Noting that she died in Abuja.

Additionally, in a post tagged, ‘Our matriarch transits to eternity,’ the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives said his mother lived a fruitful and eventful life. He also noted that her family was by her side as she passed on.

On behalf of the Ihedioha family, the ex-governor wrote, “After a fruitful and eventful life of God’s abundant mercies and grace, our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Dame Dorothy Nsonma Ihedioha (Nee Okereke), gloriously transited to eternity on Thursday 20th April 2023 in Abuja, with her family by her side.

He noted that “his Mother celebrated her 90th birthday on August 28, 2022. 

And thanked friends and well wishers who identified with them during their mothers last days. Ihedioha urge the general public to remember them in their prayers and further affirms that his mother’s Funeral arrangement would be communicated soon.

The PDP’s Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar used his Twitter handle to condole Ihedioha family.

Also the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi consoled Ihedioha on the passing on of his mother.
