The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reiterated her dedication to improving women’s standards through the All Progressives Congress (APC) government’s “Renewed Hope Initiative.”
The First Lady made this pledge at the 9th graduation ceremony of the Federal University Dutsin-ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State, where she was awarded with an honorary degree of Causa in Law.
Represented by the wife of Gombe State Governor, Mrs. Tinubu stressed her longstanding commitment to women’s causes, which she has championed since her time in the Senate.
She emphasised numerous initiatives she has commenced, including the “Alternative High School for Girls” and the “Young Farmers Club for Pupils in Upper Primary and Secondary Schools,” all targeted at fostering women’s development.
“Education has always been the bedrock of my belief in personal development and awareness,” the first lady stated. She further announced a donation of fifty million naira to assist the best graduating students of FUDMA, reinforcing her dedication to education.
In his address, the Chancellor of the Federal University, King JaJa of Opobo, Chief Dandeso Douglas JaJa Apobo, advised the graduates to avoid criminality and to serve as exemplary ambassadors for their alma mater.
He urged them to apply the skills and entrepreneurial training they received during their studies.
