Dr. Adeniran Tella, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), confirmed the occurrence in a statement released in Ibadan and provided to the press. The incident transpired at approximately 10:30 am on Friday.

The REC clarified that the cause of the fire remained undetermined, though it was presumed to have originated from a power surge. Dr. Tella reassured that there were no casualties, emphasizing that only logistical materials were affected.

Furthermore, he affirmed that the unfortunate incident would not impact the upcoming Saki West State Constituency re-run election scheduled for February 3.
