The Federal Government now requires Federal Civil Servants on study leave to provide proof of approval from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

This directive, highlighted by the Head of Civil Service, Folashade Yemi-Esan, emphasizes the implementation of a routine verification process to confirm the whereabouts of workers.

In a memo addressed to all permanent secretaries, Yemi-Esan emphasized the need for physical verification to uphold the integrity of the Integrated Personnel Payroll and Information System.

The memo instructs ministries to conduct a physical verification exercise for all staff to determine their locations.

Additionally, civil servants on study leave must present evidence of approval from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

The report of the exercise is to be submitted to the Head of Civil Service by April 2, 2024.
