FG Announces Deadline for Civil Servants Screening on IPPIS Portal

Gbadamosi Azeezah

The Federal Government has once again extended the deadline for federal civil servants to verify their identities on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) portal.

A recent circular, signed by the IPPIS management and observed by our correspondent on Sunday, announced an additional one-week period for updates, now set to conclude on Friday, August 23, 2024.

The circular also confirmed that the process of collating and validating all submitted information has commenced.

The government previously mandated that all employees registered on the IPPIS update their details to combat salary fraud.

Initially, the Accountant-General of the Federation, Oluwatoyin Madein, set a deadline of July 31 for this verification, which was later extended by two weeks, ending on August 15.

In response, President Bola Tinubu ordered that civil servants drawing salaries after relocating abroad must refund the money.

He also stated that supervisors and department heads who facilitated such fraudulent activities would face disciplinary action.
