A 28 year old woman identified as Abigail Manu has been burnt to death together with her two daughters, Nora and Philippa Yeboah, 9 and 6years old respectively at Atwima Nwabiagya in the Ashanti Region. The unfortunate incident happened at their home in the early hours of Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

According to eyewitnesses, two other family members in the house were able to escape, but the three were trapped inside causing them to meet their untimely death.

A timely intervention of some officers in the neighborhood prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring houses; the affected house however has been completely destroyed.

Stephen Wundomor, an eyewitness stated, “we heard the victims screaming and calling for help but we were only able to rescue two out of the five persons who were trapped in the fire.”

This comes a few weeks after a police officer and his family perished in a similar fire incident at Apromase in the Ashanti region.
