Enugu Gov. Appoints Channels TV Anchor, As ESBS Boss

Gov. Mbah opined that, Ladi Akeredolu-Ale has many years of experience in Journalism, noting he is capable of the task.

The Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has appointed Mr Ladi Akeredolu-Ale as the managing director of Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS).

This was announced via Governor Mbah’s Twitter handle on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Akeredolu-Ale was before his appointment, the Controller, Current Affairs at Channels television headquarters in Lagos State.

However, Mbah said he expected the Channels TV journalist, Akeredolu-Ale to bring to ESBS, his over 30 years of experience in journalism in order to engender a media revolution and innovation.

Gov. Mbah wrote: “I have appointed Mr. Ladi Akeredolu-Ale, as the Managing Director of Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS).

“Until this appointment, Ladi was the Controller, Current Affairs at Channels Television in Lagos State. He is an award-winning journalist and I expect him to bring to ESBS his over 30 years of experience in journalism.

“I’m hopeful that Mr. Akeredolu-Ale would drive a media revolution, inspire drastic reforms in media innovation and creativity, and turn ESBS media service into one of the best revenue-generating organisations in Enugu state.”

Akeredolu-Ale holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Sociology from the Universities of Ilorin and Lagos in 1992 and 1998 respectively.

He was an alumnus of the Lagos Business School Chief Executive’s Programme of 2011. 

Similarly, he takes charge of programming, particularly foreign affairs, sports and collaborations with international sister media organizations, anchors the current affairs interview programme, Newsnight as well as the flagship News At Ten at Channels TV.

Akeredolu-Ale has attended numerous training programmes including the National Association of Broadcasters’ (NAB) senior management programme in Washington, USA.
