EKEDC Attributes Lagos Power Outages to Faulty Transmission Lines

Gbadamosi Azeezah

Lagos residents continue to face persistent power outages, with the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) attributing the issue to faults on the 330kV transmission lines that supply power to the region.

In a recent statement, EKEDC explained that reduced power allocation from its partners at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has resulted in load-shedding across its network. This situation has been exacerbated by ongoing faults on the critical transmission lines, further complicating efforts to stabilize the power supply.

EKEDC has assured its customers that it is working diligently with TCN and other stakeholders to resolve the issue.

Despite these efforts, the company has not provided a specific timeline for when full restoration of power can be expected, leaving many residents uncertain about the future of their electricity supply.
