On Wednesday, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Olanipekun Olukoyede, handed over 14 recovered assets to Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mba.

Meanwhile, at the handover ceremony held at the EFCC Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, Olukoyede disclosed that the assets recovered by the EFCC were forfeited to the Federal Government.

He opined that the commission had commenced an investigation into the development since 2007 and had achieved the sentence of persons in relation to the matter.

He also hinted that the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, directed the handover of the assets, which consist of real estate, medical facilities, radio, and television transmission equipment, amongst others, to the Enugu State Government, following a plea by the EFCC.
