In a statement signed by the president's senior special assistant for media and publicity, Garba Shehu, reported that the president and the president elect thanked God for seeing the end of ramadan and prayed for their nation to remain stable.

In the statement titled “President Buhari, Tinubu exchange Sallah greetings,” Shehu revealed that President Buhari has extended an invitation to Governor Tinubu to visit him at the State House on May 29.

It can be recalled that, Asiwaju Tinubu was declared the winner of Nigeria's presidential election on March 1, 2023.

The former Lagos governor polled 8,794,726 votes to beat the Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar, who garnered 6,984,520 votes and the Labour Party’s Peter Obi, who came third with 6,101,533 votes.
