Social activist and media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has been held by police in Abuja after answering an invitation from the force on Wednesday, October 30.

This was revealed by his counsel, Deji Adeyanju; he noted that VeryDarkMan has consistently expressed that “the Nigerian Police are our friends, even though we all know they are not.”

The lawyer said, “Our client, VeryDarkMan, was held after honouring the police invitation.

He has repeatedly highlighted the positive role of the Nigerian Police, even though many people don't think so.”

According to reports, VeryDarkMan had initially issued an apology to the police for wearing a uniform similar to theirs in a video.

He urged Nigerians to always ask for permission before wearing items that may appear to be official police property.
