Popular Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, famously known as Bobrisky, has refuted a bribery accusation levelled against him by a social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, otherwise known as VeryDarkMan.

In a viral audio recording, released by VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky accused some unnamed EFCC agents of taking a bribe of 15 million naira to drop money laundering charges against him.

Reacting to the viral audio clip in a statement on Tuesday, the EFCC's spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, announced that the Commission's Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, had ordered an immediate investigation into the bribery accusation made by Bobrisky in the recording.

Meanwhile, in an Instagram post on Wednesday morning, Bobrisky refuted bribing any EFCC personnel to drop money laundering charges against him, stressing that he served his jail term.

The controversial social media figure denied the authenticity of the viral audio recording, describing it as fake and stressing that the news that he was never in prison was untrue and should be ignored.

Bobrisky wrote: “My notice has been drawn to a fabricated audio recording trending on the internet that I gave EFCC 15 million naira and that I was never in jail... I didn’t give any EFCC officer money, which is a very big lie. I served my full sentence, and I came out. Ignore any fake news.”
