A committee has been constituted by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) with the goal of bringing down the exorbitant cost of flights, particularly for international travel.

Lagos Local News reports that Captain Chris Najomo, the NCAA's acting director general, made this declaration on Monday through a video press release that was uploaded to the Authority's official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Najomo announced that he has formed a high-powered committee to look into all the factors affecting airfare prices, as well as ways that they can be reduced. He also mentioned that the Authority is aware of the increased and high costs of international air travel in the country.

The NCAA's Acting Director-General went on to say that to guarantee that the cost of international airfares in Nigeria is reduced, especially for international travels, the Authority has arranged meetings with airlines, stakeholders, and other agencies.
