The previous Iyaloja General of Osun State, Awawu Asindemade has demanded that she can't be taken out from office.

Additionally, Asindemade maintained that she founded her group as a non-governmental organization.

The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, issued a statement on Thursday announcing the appointment of a new Iyaloja General for the state through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

The governor praised Oyebode Aderonke Mary, the new Iyaloja General, as an effective leader of the state's businesswomen.

Adeleke additionally noticed that Oyebode has contributed monstrously to the development and advancement of business in Osun.

Asindemade stated, in response to her replacement, "They only removed themselves and not me, I am not bothered by that development, because they can't stop me from being the Iyaloja General, rather the one appointed as the new Iyaloja General is for the PDP."

"I remain the Iyaloja General in Osun, whereas the PDP's new Iyaloja General has been appointed. We have a federal government, so it won't be a problem if the government decides not to communicate with us". She added

In addition, Asindemade insisted that she was not appointed for a specific period of time and stated that the state government had no authority to fire an Iyaloja general.

"My tenure as Iyaloja General is not predetermined. The public authority has no ability to eliminate Iyaloja General. Our gathering is a Non-legislative Association. She stated, "I was the one who established it."

The Rauf Aregbesola administration appointed Asindemade to the Iyaloja General position.

Awawu Asindemade's troubles began when the Ademola Adeleke administration took office on November 27, 2022, despite the fact that the Adegboyega Oyetola administration continued to recognize her throughout its tenure.

It was alleged that, in February 2023, officials from the state government carried out a home invasion, removing her official vehicles and 31 other iyalojas from the state.

She was affirmed to have gone to the February 2, 2023, Tinubu/Shettima Official Mission in Osun at the Nelson Mandela Opportunity Park, Osogbo.

The Osun Peoples Democratic Party, the People's Democratic Party, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) exchanged barbs following the raid on her house.
