16 UNILORIN Alumni Secure First Class at Law School
The University of Ilorin has achieved a major academic milestone as 16 of its law graduates secured first-class degrees in the recently concluded final examinations of the Nigerian Law School.
Meanwhile, 58 of the university's graduates successfully earned second class upper division honours in their bar final examinations.
Kunle Akogun, the Director of Corporate Affairs at the University of Ilorin, revealed the development in a statement issued to journalists in Ilorin.
He described the record as unprecedented in the history of the institution’s Faculty of Law, stating that the previous highest number of First Class graduates was 10, recorded in 2023.
Akogun credited the impressive results to sustained efforts toward improving academic standards and institutional support within the university.
Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, shared his delight regarding the results, describing it as a historic milestone for both the Faculty of Law and the institution as a whole.
He said that the results reflect the commitment and hard work of the students, as well as the academic environment provided by the university.
The vice-chancellor also applauded all graduates of the faculty who successfully passed the bar examinations across various grades, encouraging them to uphold the values of professionalism and excellence as they begin their legal careers.
He urged the graduates to remain worthy ambassadors of the university as they advance in the legal profession.
