Two men, Joseph Dennis, 20, and Friday Agogo, 29, were taken into custody by members of the Amotekun Corps in Osun State for robbing and attempting to kill an unidentified market woman in the Ila-Orangun region of the state.
Retired Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, On Saturday, the Amotekun security unit's corps commander stated that the perpetrators are from Benue State.
Adewinmbi shared the following information: "The suspects attacked the woman at Thick Area Elemo Ogun Community on her way to Ila-Orangun town after selling the produce from her farm. They collected her money and also attempted to stab her with a knife."
They disguised themselves with masks so that the woman wouldn't recognize them, but the woman heard one of the suspects' voices.
He stated that the victim made a distress call to the security company in Ila, and the two were apprehended in their hideout.
He said that the agents then immediately got to work.
"The suspects confessed to perpetrating the act and that they have been involved in such activities for a very long time," Adewinmbi added.
