Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State clarified that the state received a total of 2 billion Naira for palliative measures and an additional 7 billion Naira designated as infrastructure support funds, which adds up to 9 billion Naira. He criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for deliberately spreading false information.

According to a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke explained that the 2 billion Naira allocated for subsidy palliatives is being used for food aid, transportation services, and the refurbishment of health centers. Procurement orders for these initiatives have already been initiated.

Regarding the 7 billion Naira federal refund, Governor Adeleke clarified that it is specifically earmarked for infrastructure development and accounts for less than 20% of the total funds that the Osun State Government is investing in upgrading infrastructure.

The Governor provided detailed information about the proposed infrastructure projects, which include road dualization, construction of overhead bridges, extensive solar-powered street lighting, enhancements to hospitals, water-related projects, and the development of Imole Housing estates, spanning all nine federal constituencies in the state.
