Dr. Ramon Adedoyin, owner of Hilton Hotels in Ile-Ife, Osun State, and two members of his staff were found guilty by an Osun State High Court of murdering Timothy Adegoke, an ex-Master's student at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife. Adedoyin has appealed the verdict to a higher court.

Keep in mind that the Osun State Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo, sentenced Adedoyin, Adeniyi Aderogba, and Oyetunde Kazeem, two of his staff members who participated in the evacuation of the deceased from the hotel, to death by hanging in her judgment.

Additionally, Justice Ojo ruled that the hotel where Adegoke died should be forfeited to the state government, and the estates of the convicts should be used to fund the education of the deceased's children until they graduate from tertiary institutions.

However, the judge released three hotel employees, namely; Oluwole Lawrence, Adebayo Kunle, and Magdalene Chiefuna were the other three defendants. The seventh defendant, Adesola Adedeji, who was the receptionist on duty on the day that late Adegoke arrived at the facility, was given a two-year sentence that began on the day of her arrest.

In an interview on Thursday, one of the lawyers who represented Adedoyin in the case, Mr. Muhydeen Adeoye, confirmed that the convicts had appealed the judgment of the Osun State High Court on the matter.

He stated, "We have filed an appeal against the judgment of Osun State High Court." The Court of Appeal in Akure heard the appeal.
