About 20 Medical Students Abducted in Benue

About 20 medical and dental students, accompanied by a house officer, were kidnapped by armed assailants on their way to the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) annual convention in Enugu.

The abduction happened at about 5:30 p.m. on Friday in the Otukpo area of Benue State. The students, who hail from the University of Maiduguri and the University of Jos, were traveling when they were ambushed by their abductors.

The Benue State Police have confirmed the incident and are actively investigating the matter. As of now, there have been no ransom demands or conditions for the release of the victims.
