The Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has disclosed the appointment of Benson Ojeikere, an indigene of Edo State, as the new Head of Service for the Abia State Civil Service.
This was announced in a statement posted through the governor’s verified X account on Tuesday.
It was gathered that Ojeikere, a former permanent secretary in the Abia State Government House, is from Edo State but has ties to Abia State.
Here is the content of the statement: “I am happy to announce the appointment of Mr. Benson Ojeikere, former Permanent Secretary of the Abia State Government House, as the new Head of Service for the Abia State Civil Service.”
“Initially from Edo State, Mr. Ojeikere finished his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Abia State, where he distinguished himself as the best Youth Corps member and was subsequently granted automatic employment by the government of the time. Throughout the years, he has served diligently in the civil service, steadily rising through the ranks. Remarkably, he was also among the best in the Permanent Secretary examination category.”
Otti revealed that the appointment reflects his government’s dedication to promoting meritocracy, transforming governance in the state, and fostering a robust civil service.
