Abducted Anambra Commissioner, wife Regain Freedom

It was gathered that they were on their way to the wedding ceremony of Adaora Soludo, the daughter of Anambra state governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, when the incident occurred.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Aghamba, and his wife, Chizoba, who were abducted last week beside Edo-Kogi road while traveling to Abuja, have been safely released.

Aghamba’s aid, ABK Offiah, who was accompanying them, was shot dead by the gunmen during the kidnapping incident.

According to reports, they were on their way to the wedding ceremony of Adaora Soludo, the daughter of Anambra state governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, when the incident occurred.

The Anambra state government announced the release of the couple yesterday.

Mr. Christian Aburime, press secretary to Governor Soludo, revealed that Aghamba and his wife regained their freedom on Saturday night.

He stated that no ransom was paid for their release and that their freedom was achieved through divine intervention.

“Patrick Aghamba and his wife have been freed by the special grace of God. We were able to secure his freedom, and no ransom was paid," Aburime was quoted as saying.
