A community in Ife South Local Government Area of Osun State, Araromi-Oke Odo now has electricity supply after 91 years of its establishment," as reported by DAILY POST. Governor Ademola Adeleke has pledged to collaborate with independent energy companies to illuminate long-darkened communities.

Governor Adeleke, represented by the Commissioner for Energy, Adeyemo Ademola, commended the resilience of the community since 1932, stating, "This is the first of its kind in this State." He also expressed gratitude to Sholep company and announced plans to extend such projects to other communities.

Engr. Olalekan Adeleke Shogbesan, CEO of Sholep Energy Limited, revealed that their World Bank Assisted project, primarily funded by Sholep, was progressing in eleven different communities within the Ife-South Local Government Area. This includes a 50KWP Hybrid Solar Mini-Grid Power Plant that commenced construction in 2018.

The Alara of Araromi Oke-odo, Oba Abass Gbadamosi, expressed joy over the project's success, vowing community cooperation and protection of the company's interests. This marks a significant milestone for Araromi-Oke Odo, which had been without electricity and many basic amenities like pipe-borne water and good roads since its founding in 1932.
