The Imo State Police Command affirmed that they would arrest the assassins who killed five police officers together with husband and wife on Friday April 21st.
It was reported that the incident occured at the Okpala community in Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo state.
ASP Henry Okoye, The Police Public Relations Officer, said Tactical and Operational Teams have been deployed to the place where the incident took place
The Police Public Relations Officer says, “the command has deployed teams for constant patrol and in search of the hatchet men.
The remains of the victims, have been removed and deposited in a mortuary.
According to report, the killers took their rifles and destroyed a white Hilux patrol van. Also, it was alleged that a couple Mr and Mrs Chinaka Nwagu, owners of a near by retail shop were killed as well.
Similarly, “Three policemen were killed inside a cafeteria while the other two ran to a nearby store but the gunmen ran after them to the store, killing them and the couple,” an eye witness reports to NAN.
News also says that Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) where killed in Okpala on March 27, 2023.
