Agbor Ndoma Obim, the coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Osun State, has revealed that 14 scheme members will repeat their service in accordance with the NYSC Act and Bylaws.
Obim also revealed that the NYSC Board extended the service year of 19 corps members because of their lack of initiative during their service year.
During the low-key handing out ceremony for NYSC 2022 Batch B Stream 2 members deployed to the state for mandatory one-year national service on Thursday, Obim disclosed this information.
The head of the Osun NYSC said that 2184 corps members successfully left the scheme.
He says, "A total of 2184 were successfully disengaged, and the Board sanctioned 19 Corps Members due to the lackadaisical attitude exhibited during their service year, which attracted an extension of service."
According to the Act and Scheme Bylaws, "14 members who absconded were billed to repeat the service."
He praised the corps members for their unwavering determination from the beginning of the service year until the happy occasion.
“I exhort the Corps Members to put the training they have received to good use as they navigate the four phases of the service year.
He exhorted the participants, "I charge you to embrace hard work and industry leveraging on the various skills acquired during in-camp and post-camp skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development classes."
The State Coordinator urged the members to cherish the friendships and relationships they had formed during the service year and to remain their brothers' guardians as they entered society.
He charged them to disregard all types of defilement and social indecencies which just outcomes in a mishap for the country and the culprit too.
He urged the Corps Members to continue serving as effective ambassadors for their families, the nation, and the Scheme.
