The Benue Community Volunteer Guards (BCVG) apprehended three suspected kidnappers on Monday in Otukpo, the headquarters of Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue state.

Our correspondents gathered that the suspected kidnappers had prepared to leave for Makurdi, the state capital when their luck ran out.

According to sources, after receiving a tip-off from the motor park where the three men were attempting to board a vehicle to Makurdi, the community volunteer guards swiftly apprehended them with huge sums of money presumed to be ransom from their victims.

According to a source who spoke with our reporters, the apprehended kidnappers were taken to the Otukpo police station, where they confessed to the crime and were taken into custody on Monday.

SP Catherine Anene, the Public Relations Officer for the Benue State Police Command, confirmed the arrest of the kidnappers and urged the public to always provide valuable and credible information to police.
