Reports had it that they were driving to Kafur, the governor's hometown for today's governorship and house of assembly elections and the sad incident occurred along Jikamshi Village, Musawa LGA of Katsina State.

Kabir Adamu and Nura Safiyanu, who were the two police attached to the governor, were identified as having been killed in a car accident. Amad Ali, a civilian was also reportedly among those killed when his vehicle crashed into theirs.

Some of the convoy members sustained injuries and are being treated at a hospital.
Confirming the report, the spokesperson of the Katsina Police Command, SP Isah Gambo said three persons died in the accident.
