Fifteen prisoners who were imprisoned for different periods of time at the four State Custodial Centers in Kwara State has been released.
Two prisoners were released by Justice Abiodun Adewara, the chief judge of Kwara State, while the federal government paid the fines of thirteen prisoners to secure their release.
The 15 prisoners were released on Tuesday after the chief judge and other pertinent members of the Criminal Justice Administration's Justice Reform Sector Committee paid a visit to the Old Ilorin Custodial Centre in Okekura, the state capital.
Adeyinka Oyun, the state controller of the Correctional Center, welcomed the team.
The main goal of the exercise, according to Chief Judge Adewara, was to clear out the prisons.
Adewara urged the released prisoners to behave well while thanking the Correctional Service officers, men, and other pertinent partners who took part in the exercise.

He expressed gratitude to the federal government and the Controller General of Correctional Service, Haliru Nababa, Kwara State, for establishing a welcoming atmosphere for the employees and prisoners housed in the State's detention facilities.
