Uchechi Emelonye, a rising Afrosoul artist, stole the show at the Konga Place, Lagos, 2023 TD Africa's Celebrating You Concert.

The UK-based artist is making her first major appearance in Nigeria, following the release of her successful singles Little Black Bird, Sunrise to Sundown, Baby You, and Underwater—which won the BBC Music Introducing Record of the Year 2022 award in Lancashire, England.

Fans and industry veterans alike recognize Emelonye's talent for her stage presence, vocals, and afro-soul-infused music, including Patoranking, compere, and IK Osakioduwa.

“Uchechi is a talented, fast rising singer from a family of very creative people. You will appreciate the depth of her art when you watch her perform,” cites Osakioduwa while introducing the singer on stage.

The 22-year-old artist's performance was summed up by Patoranking, who was also present at the event, in the kind words, "See you at the top" while Oluwaseyi Oseni, a fan and software engineer, described her music as mature and transgenerational saying, “I love that her music is unique, mature and elevated. She has something for the young and the old.

The younger generation will be captivated by her rhythm, while her lyrics will appeal to the older generation, who grew up in the era of soul music characterized by Anita Baker, Marvin Gaye etc. She is a total package and I know that the future is hers to take.”
