American singer and songwriter Taylor Alison Swift, known for her biographical songwriting, artistic reinventions, and cultural impact, has dominated the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards contenders list, gaining seven approvals after the release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Swift is likely to be among the star-studded crowd when the event takes place at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England, on Sunday, November 10.

The popular singer, who already has 15 MTV EMAs to her name, is running for best artist, best video, best pop, best live, and biggest fans. She is also running for Best Collaboration for her single Fortnight with Post Malone, which has also scored nods in the Best Video category. 

However, Taylor Swift faces stiff competition on the night as Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, and Sabrina Carpenter all gained five nominations each, featuring in groups such as Best Song, Best Video, and Best Artist. 

Ayra Starr, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, and LISA, along with first-time contenders Chappell Roan and Tyla, are close behind with four nominations each.
