Chigozie Godspower Obioma, better known by his stage name Omeh Dee, emerged as the winner in 9mobile's highly anticipated 9Lives Rap Battle Competition with an amazing performance of narrative and lyrical skill.
Unsigned and undiscovered talents from all around Nigeria participated in the nationwide competition, an idea of 9mobile, designed to find and promote the next generation of rap superstars. To win the coveted title, competitors were urged to showcase their distinct style, vocal agility, and lyrical inventiveness.
Following his victory, Omeh Dee thanked 9mobile for giving him a platform that let him realize his aspirations. He was thrilled and filled with gratitude. He stood out for his remarkable ability to craft memorable tales with original rhymes, enthralling the judges as well as the fervent crowd.
The occasion, which was attended by representatives of 9mobile and renowned judges, such as Franklyn Ikemefune ("Vader the Wildcard" or Samo Agbero), demonstrated the telecom behemoth's dedication to supporting innovation and developing new talent in Nigeria's thriving music sector.
In addition to receiving the esteemed title, Omeh Dee's triumph was celebrated with the awarding of a N1 million cash prize, demonstrating 9mobile's commitment to highlighting and assisting regional talent.
Along with consolation awards, first and second runners-up, Folarin Michael Tokunbo, better known as Mickey Fols, and Emmanuel Jonathan, also known as Big Flow, also received praise and cash prizes of N300,000 and N200,000, respectively.
The manager of events and sponsorship for 9mobile, Ufuoma Dogun, underlined the company's dedication to helping up-and-coming musicians while highlighting the importance of music as a potent means of expressing identity in Nigerian culture.
