Don Jazzy, a seasoned producer of Nigerian music whose real name is Michael Collins Ajereh, has urged Nigerian musicians to use Davido's promotional strategy as a model.
Davido has been touring the country with his fourth studio album, "Timeless," to promote it to the media.
Don Jazzy encouraged other Nigerian performers to follow in the singer's footsteps while praising his music promotion techniques for his most recent album.
The head of Marvin claimed that despite being an established musician, Davido didn't just sit back but instead actively promoted his record.
In a tweet on Monday, Don Jazzy wrote, “Dear artists, I hope you can see how Davido is marketing his album. He didn’t form oh I’m OBO so everybody will cop my shit. Marketing your beautiful project that you worked hard on does not reduce your swag.”
Davido's album "Timeless" has broken numerous streaming records, including the highest charting album by an African artist on US Apple Music (peaked at Number 2), the first African album to reach Number One on US iTunes Albums Chart, and the largest album first-day streams in Audiomack history.
