BREAKING: Nollywood Veteran Actor, Mr Ibu Passes on

Veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly called Mr. Ibu, has passed on.

Although the family is yet to release an official statement, reports have it that the legendary actor who died at Evercare Hospital in Lagos on Saturday, March 2, was battling clotting of the blood in his leg amog other health issues that posed risk to his life.

In a bid to save his life, one of his legs was amputated after seven surgeries. Mr. Ibu celebrated his 62nd birthday in October 2023 in a hospital room, where he was visibly in discomfort.

Until his hospitalization and death, John Okafor had appeared in numerous Nollywood comic movies alongside other prominent actors like Nkem Owoh, Patiene Ozokwor, late Sam Loco Efe, Osita Iheme and Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki and Pawpaw), Mercy Johnson Okojie, and a host of others.

He was a household name in the Nigerian movie industry, and will no doubt be missed by Nigerians.
