Gbadamosi Azeezah

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates will take place from October 25 to December 20, 2024.

In a statement released on Tuesday, WAEC indicated that the examination will employ a hybrid delivery mode, allowing candidates to answer multiple-choice questions directly on-screen while essay and practical questions will also be displayed digitally, with responses recorded in provided answer booklets.

Furthermore, WAEC has extended the registration period for candidates until October 29, 2024. The council emphasized that candidates can opt for a traditional paper-and-pen format for all examination papers if they prefer.

Additionally, a "Walk-in Candidate" option will be available for those who register at least 24 hours before their chosen exam date.

WAEC encourages all prospective and registered candidates to utilize various learning resources offered by the council, including the WAEC e-Study platform and past examination question books.
