The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, is No doubt a unifier.

The urge to go for National Youth Service is the dream of most Nigerian graduates and diplomats as it is one of the criteria most organizations and institutions check before employing Job seekers in their establishments.

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, is a Scheme established by the Nigerian Government to unite their Nation and equally to promote Love and peace across the country.

Invariably, the NYSC scheme was created in a bid to restructure, reconcile and rebuild the country after the Nigeria 30 months Civil War from 1967/1970.  The unfortunate ancestor in our national history gave impetus to the establishment of the National Youth Service Corps in May 1973. It was born with the propagation of the National Youth Corp decree No.24 which states that the NYSC is being established with view to the proper encouragement and the development of communities among the youths of Nigeria.

Moreover, NYSC equally helps to integrate the three ethnic groups in Nigeria (Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba).  It gives every Nigerian graduate and diplomat equal opportunity to work together and serve the country with selflessness, in unity and Love.

These certificate holders are mostly youths within the ages of 20-30 years old respectively, they are from a diverse cultural group, different religion beliefs, speak different Languages which could be (Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba and others as Nigeria has numerous languages and Ethnic groups apart from these major three).

The Nigerian youths are given the opportunity to serve in different establishments, institutions and organizations for a period of one year before entering into the workforce to face life and reality.

Interestingly, they are also being deployed in different States across the country, a place with a diverse cultural background far away from their various homes to serve Nigeria.

It’s basically an awesome way of integrating the Youths together as they start to appreciate other people’s beliefs, culture, religion and political affiliation without any bias.

Integration of Youths is one sure way of reducing crimes and modifying some existing societal norms in a nation. It’s equally the bedrock of development in every democratic and civilized society.
