During a two-day workshop, the supportive partners brainstormed extensively on how best to implement policy documents in Kebbi State's public schools.

Speaking at the workshop, WRAPA convener Muhammad Nasir and executive secretary Abdullah Abbasi stressed that a careful survey had been conducted, they discovered that any educational policy must embrace community engagement and involve those who will be most affected by it namely, the primary pupils themselves. Such involvement has been missing from their education documents of the primary board who are saddle with the responsibility to monitor primary education in Kebbi state.

He noted that the policy framework would improve learning conditions for all school children in Kebbi state, he also said that now that the board has adopted the policy framework, it is essential for them to ensure all its details are fully implemented in public education in Kebbi State.

Mr Peter Ogah from Youth Hub Africa described the two workshops as fruitful, stating that his body is pleased with the adoption of policy framework, it will not be business as usual! Together they with SUBEB will ensure full implementation and accountability.

Mr Peter added that the first public hearing on the framework documents Youth Africa Hub will provide assistance in terms of incentives for all the participants and possibly refreshments aside that the body will encourage more community engagement as it is the vehicle that is used to access parents of pupils and to give them the sense of belonging.

Mister Hassan stressed that Kebbi state will no doubt ensure the policy meets the target which is aggressive engagement of the community in public education development in the state, he said that partnership is an enduring timeless engagement which will be periodically reviewed to see progress and challenges.

The two workshops held in Birnin Kebbi, at Saffar Guest House were attended by the Waziri Gwandu Abdullahi Umar and other stakeholders.
