On August 27, the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board announced its intention to recruit 1,611 new staff members—both teaching and non-teaching personnel.

The announcement was made by Prof. Shehu Raheem Adaramaja, Chairman of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KwSUBEB).

The recruitment will include 695 individuals with Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degrees, 605 holders of the National Certificate in Education (NCE), 200 security personnel, and 111 other non-teaching staff.

This decision follows a comprehensive needs assessment conducted in all 16 local government areas, ensuring that the recruitment aligns with the specific demands of each community.

The recruitment process will prioritize local involvement, with applications being accepted at the local government level or in nearby communities where the need for educational services is most pressing.

Successful candidates will be required to sign a five-year bond, which will restrict them from transferring or relocating from their assigned positions.

Prof. Adaramaja emphasized that this recruitment effort reflects the Governor's commitment to improving education at the grassroots level, ensuring equitable representation from each local government area in the recruitment process.

He stated, “The recruitment drive is part of the Governor's commitment to strengthening the educational sector in Kwara State, ensuring that each community within the 16 Local Government Education Areas receives adequate educational resources and support”
