Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has praised the outstanding academic performance of state-sponsored students pursuing higher education in India.
During a recent visit to Sharjah University in India, Yusuf expressed pride in the students' achievements, calling their success a testament to the value of educational investment.
The governor's spokesman, Sunusi Tofa, released a statement on Wednesday detailing Yusuf's affirmation that the scholarship program's resources were well-spent, with students exceeding expectations in their academic pursuits.
Yusuf emphasized his administration's dedication to educational advancement, viewing the nurturing of young talent as crucial to Kano State's future prosperity.
"This visit has allowed me to interact directly with the students, address their concerns, and gain valuable insights from the initial group of over 400 students sponsored to universities in Uganda and India under the 100:1 Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme," Yusuf stated.
The governor's visit served dual purposes: to assess the current situation and to refine preparations for future scholarship recipients, both abroad and domestically. Yusuf aims to complete the 100:1 initiative before the end of his first term.
